Starting a family is an exciting time and my husband and I have always dreamed of becoming parents. But after struggling with infertility we knew adoption was the right decision for us. It was something we always had a heart for.
Finding the right adoption agency isn’t easy. There are lots of choices and most of them would have been the wrong choice for us. We knew that an adoption agency would be a place where we invested our heart, time, and resources. Graceful Adoptions helped us create our family profile and walked us through what the adoption process was all about. About nine months after our family profile went live, we were matched with a birth family! This was a very emotional and highly-charged time but Graceful Adoptions was there for us whenever we needed them. They helped set up an in-person meeting with the couple so we could spend time just getting to know each other as people. We ended up forming a beautiful relationship with the birth parents.
Going to the hospital to meet our beautiful daughter was nerve-racking. What gave us peace of mind was knowing ahead of time everything that what would happen at the hospital. We were prepared with the mother’s birth plan and had a map of the hospital so we knew exactly where to go. Graceful Adoptions worked with the hospital to arrange for us to have a room in the hospital so we could stay close to the birth parents and the daughter we shared.
We never felt alone or on our own through the entire adoption process.
